MOTTO

Culture & Service

VISION

MISSION

“Producing model citizens of tomorrow"
“To provide a learning environment which educates and trains our students to be holistic citizens with the desire to excel in this dynamic world.

BELIEFS

Every Child can Learn.
We are not to be part of the problem, but be part of the solution.
As teachers and administrators, we are engaged in nation building.

CORE VALUES

GOALS

  • We try to instill in our students that regardless of consequences, there is the need to be truthful and honest in their undertakings.
  • Everyone must be loyal to the school, the community and the nation and all actions should be to promote a positive school culture.
  • Respect for oneself and for each other is paramount to developing an individual who can be held in high esteem.
  • Character is determined by one’s actions and one’s relationship with others, and requires self-discipline on the part of the individual.
  • Learning does not end at the end of five to seven years, nor is it confined to the school.  One should take each of life’s experience as a learning experience and each environment as a learning community, thereby promoting lifelong learning.
  • Successes should be celebrated and failures should be considered learning experiences
We aim
  • to produce the next cadre of leaders of this society – people who are intellectually sharp, morally and socially responsible with a strong sense of patriotism and yet aware of their commitment to the broader world.
  • to develop in our students a desire for achieving excellence in all aspects of school life, be it academics, sports, culture, discipline and moral and spiritual values.
  • to have every student in the school be involved in at least one co-curricular activity during the school year.
  • to provide a variety of enriching experiences for our students, both in and out of the classroom, so that they will have positive memories of their life at FASS.
  • to have our students be respectful of persons, their environment and themselves as they progress through the school and beyond.

SCHOOL'S PROFILE

Fyzabad Anglican Secondary was founded in 1941 by Mr. Harold M. Telemaque and Mrs. Millicent Waldron to cater to the needs of the children of employees of the then Apex Oil Company which mined the oil fields in the area.  At that time, it was known as the Fyzabad Intermediate School catering to primary and secondary students.

n 1967, the primary sector was phased out and plans were initiated to convert the school to a Junior Secondary School.  However, with the introduction of the Siparia Junior and Senior Secondary Schools less than ten kilometres away, the school was placed under the Anglican Board of Management and became part of the Bishop’s Anstey Association, hence the present name.

In 1996, the Advanced Level programme was added initially in conjunction with the Fyzabad [Composite] Secondary.

At present, the school is a co-educational institution with an enrollment of about 600 students ranging from forms one to form six.

Currently, students receive services from the Student Support Services; students are offered breakfast and lunch; students can access the ‘free maxi’ service; and all students are part of the textbook loans programme.  We also have the services of a school counselor and social worker with approximately 20% of the students being referred to the school counselor.

The school offers largely a traditional grammar school curriculum.  Students perform creditably at the external examinations:
